Training & Development

As RSA continues to grow, we recognise that professionalism, in the broadest sense of the word, is essential for both corporate and individual success. Our continued business success, as a company, is dependent directly upon the development of skills and knowledge within our workforce. RSA, therefore, support and encourage professionalism by promoting the achievement of qualifications appropriate to both the career aspirations of the individual and the business needs of the company.

Professional qualifications form part of our commitment to people’s progression and ongoing development. We are keen to support professional development whether through the route of traditional academic qualifications, on-the-job competence development or new and innovative learning media. Education opportunities are available to all employees in line with our Equal Opportunities Policy.

RSA is regulated by the Financial Regulator. For our staff this means that all individuals who provide advice on or sell general insurance policies or are involved in claims administration and handling are covered and must reach a minimum standard of competency defined by the Regulator.

This minimum competency requirement is the Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP). This qualification has been developed by the Insurance Institute of Ireland and qualification requires successful completion of 6 exams over 4 years.

New entrants covered by these regulations will be signed up to commence studying for the next sitting of these exams. We will offer you financial support whilst studying and study leave will also be available. Successful completion of these exams will also attract payment of a financial bonus.
