December 23rd 2008
The RSA Insurance Group plc plans to change its structure in Ireland by consolidating all of its current Irish operations into its existing local Irish insurance company, Europa General Insurance Company Limited, which will be renamed RSA Insurance Ireland Limited.
We are pleased to announce that, on 18 December 2008, the High Court in London approved the proposal. The changes will be effective on 1 January 2009.
It is important to highlight that, following these changes, there will be no change to the contract of insurance of any of our policyholders, in particular the terms and conditions and renewal date will remain the same. Also, there will be no change to the manner in which you choose to transact your insurance for example, through an insurance broker or bank. Your cover will continue unaffected by these changes.
Copies of the Scheme document and the Independent Expert’s Report and the Independent Expert’s Supplemental Report are available in PDF format or we will be happy to send or email a copy should you require.
You do not need to take any action. If you have any questions please view the Question and Answer page although bear in mind that the English High Court hearing referred to in the Question and Answer page has now taken place and the Court has approved the proposed changes. Alternatively contact us on this website.
The proposed changes reflects the ongoing commitment of RSA to the Irish market, which we believe is in the long term interests of our customers and business partners.
